ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION IN ENGINEERING Certification
Entrepreneurship education at HTLs is one of the eight officially recognized European Key Competences for lifelong learning.
Certification of HTL School Locations
An HTL Entrepreneurship school site supports the personal development of its students by encouraging and demanding entrepreneurial thinking as well as project-oriented approaches.
Entrepreneurship school sites place strong emphasis on imparting basic economic knowledge, including aspects of market analysis and marketing activities, while also fostering the creativity of their students. Technical knowledge and expertise form the essential foundation for this.
Through certification, Entrepreneurship school sites are able to highlight their close connection to real economic life and strengthen or expand their existing networks with companies and other institutions (e.g. universities, European institutions).
Only certified Entrepreneurship school sites are authorized to award their students the “Entrepreneurship Certificate.”
With the acquisition of the certificate, certified school sites also receive institutional membership with IGIP-Austria.

Objectives of the EEE Certification from the Perspective of the Ministry of Education and Science
We are convinced that our students, together with their teachers, possess a wide range of talents – including the ability to pursue ideas, develop implementation plans, make decisions, and ultimately turn some of these ideas into reality. We regard entrepreneurship as an opportunity to foster the inventive spirit of young people, to provide them with support, and to accompany them – perhaps on the path toward creating a product that helps shape the future.
The EEE certification is an effective instrument to recognize schools that share this vision and are willing to commit themselves to it in a substantial way, bringing their engagement into the public eye. We carry out this certification in cooperation with TU Graz and the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP), thereby ensuring an independent and qualified audit.
A successful certification of a school as a “Center for Entrepreneurship Education in Engineering” provides the opportunity to officially attest, through a certificate, the competencies and achievements of students in this field – potentially giving them an advantage on their way into professional careers or further studies at universities or universities of applied sciences.
